Larsen Mosaics Prayer & Praise—October, 2006
We have been in Barcelona now for 5 weeks! As I look back over the last 2 months, I’m tremendously grateful to God and thankful to the many that helped along the way, for those that prayed for this significant transition! It has been very full of changes and new challenges. God’s fingerprints are all over each step. We have a deep sense that we were not alone, even though in many ways we are. Thanks to all who have held us in your hearts and considered ways to encourage. It continues to make a difference. Now for the prayer and praise requests:
- We praise God that Andy's experience getting pick pocketed was not worse than it was!! See the story on the "Daily Journey" section
- We rejoice that we are in a permanent place after having scoured and searched the city for about 3 weeks. Someone told us it usually takes longer. Carol did a lot of the initial contact with prospective owners/realtors and we finally almost had new home drop into our lap. One day, we were at the end of a string of prospective renters looking at a place when the owner told us about another apartment [piso] in the building in which they live. We think she hand picked us, wanting us for neighbors. Wow! It is beautiful place in a great neighborhood at a great price. Office space and guest room to boot.
- Continue to pray for our visas. We are a little over 30 days into our 90 visitor visas and need to receive our permanent, “religious worker” visas before out time is up. We are within our expected time frame but NEED these to come through soon.
- Praise God for good adjustments on all fronts and for some new friends for Erick at the American School. Continue to pray for us all in this area. Life can get a little lonely without that connection with friends. Pray for Spanish friends for each of us.
- Continue to pray for God’s guidance as we look at churches to connect with and potential ministry partners. Pray also for discernment of specific ministry roles we are to play and relationships with immigrants. We are eager to see God lead in this area.
- Pray for upcoming travel for Andy to La Coruña, Spain and Istanbul for a mission meeting, and then an insider conference where models for contextualization will be presented. These will be important events for networking, learning, and developing our strategy for ministry. Pray also for good discussions with our colleague, Ken in these events.
- Continue to pray for our other kids in Quito, Ecuador and Chicago. Pray for Kjel as he begins to think about next steps after graduating from North Park, and Nicki for beginning here college studies and making decisions about careers.
- Lastly pray for our parents and family that we have left behind, for God to bless their lives and give them good health.
